Salers

This medieval city, nestled in the Auvergne volcanoes, is one of the most beautiful villages in France. Perched at 950 meters in the middle of the Cantal mountains, Salers is appreciated for its medieval heritage and its beautiful architecture. But also for its gastronomy: the tasty Salers AOP, raw milk cheese made only in farms or burons (mountain chalets) from April 15 to November 15 and the "Carré de Salers", pure butter shortbread biscuit.
