Aurillac

The prefecture of Cantal, known for its street arts festival, is a city with many atmospheres. Nestled at the foot of the Cantal mountains, on the banks of the Jordanne, this millennial city is rich in its architectural heritage: the Saint-Géraud abbey church, a remnant of a former Benedictine abbey, the Romanesque facade with arcades and small columns of the he Saint-Géraud abbey hospital, the Renaissance-style Hôtel des Consuls, punctured with mullioned windows and decorated with sculptures, the Aurinques chapel, built under Henri IV in the 16th century, ^and the famous Place du Square.
